Most visitors to the area from the UK will choose to land at Almeria Airport. From the Airport we can take the N340 - travelling northeast until we reach the town of Huercal Overa. Here we take a winding country lane to the villages of Arboleas and Zurgena.

Travelling time from Almeria Airport has been about an hour.

The villages of Zurgena and Arboleas have a population in excess of 2500 - mostly friendly Spaniards working in local agriculture.

There are half a dozen bars plus a couple of bargain priced restaurants, little shops, a bank, post office, chemists and a doctors surgery (ENGLISH SPEAKING) providing service to the local community.

There are two SOL VILLA developments - one close to Arboleas and one close to Zurgena.

Phase I has already been completed and is fully sold and occupied - a number of the purchasers being British.

Visitors to the site will have the opportunity of seeing the quality of construction on offer plus a chance to chat with existing residents.

Golfers will be pleased to know that they have a choice of courses within easy driving distance including Turre (½ an hour),

Desert Springs, Almerimar, Mojacar and Envia. A useful extra at the SOL VILLA development is a 9 hole Astroturf practice range - there will be no charge for this facility and it will be for the exclusive use of home owners and their guests.

The charming costal resorts of Garrucha and Mojacar with their beaches, fishing ports and promenades can be reached in little more than half an hour. Skiing and most snow sports can be enjoyed at Sol y Nieve near Granada (2 hours) during the winter months.
